Champions Law of Agency Practice Test

Confidential information shared between a client and an agent must be kept confidential indefinitely, which supports the selection that it should be kept confidential forever. This obligation stems from the fiduciary duty that agents owe to their clients, which includes maintaining privacy and safeguarding sensitive information. The principle is grounded in promoting trust in the client-agent relationship, ensuring that clients can share details without fear of disclosure to unauthorized parties.

Even after a transaction concludes or if a client revokes consent, any confidential information gained during the agency relationship typically retains its confidential nature. This long-term duty underscores the importance of ethical conduct in professional practices, highlighting that the trust placed in agents is significant and must be maintained robustly even beyond the scope of individual transactions or agreements.
